Every morning, I wake up and reach for black. Black pants, black top, and often black shoes. It's not because I lack imagination or joy; quite the opposite, actually. By limiting my wardrobe choices (except, of course, during the festive season when I joyfully become a human Christmas tree), I'm freeing my brain for things that matter more to me: mindfulness, movement, and learning.

Decision fatigue is real. Every tiny choice we make chips away at our mental energy. I'd rather use mine for transformational, soul-expanding things. Choosing peace over panic. Presence over pressure. Growth over the grind.

This philosophy of simplifying decisions extends far beyond my closet. On Sunday afternoons, I sit down with my personal planner and do a weekly check-in. I zoom out to see the whole landscape of my life: business, family, health, and everything in between. It's like giving myself a map before the journey begins.

That hour of planning shapes my entire week. I sync calendars (we use a shared family calendar so I can see what my husband and kids have going on), review commitments, and plan meals and workouts accordingly. It's how I prevent overwhelm and ensure I'm not blindsided by "surprise" obligations.

When I work with coaching clients on time management, we always start by identifying what might be robbing them of their most precious resource: time. Often, it's not the big tasks, but the lack of preparation or the mental clutter from making too many unimportant decisions. Small shifts, like planning on Sundays or streamlining your wardrobe, can give you back hours, energy, and peace of mind.

Here's my question to you: what are the small decisions you can automate or eliminate to make room for the big, beautiful things in your life?

I'd love to hear your favorite time management tips and rituals. What works for you?
